Lazarre, Jane. Beyond the Whiteness of Whiteness: memoir of a White mother
of Black sons
Durham, NC: Duke University Press, copyright 1996.
Minerbrook, Scott. Divided to the vein: a journey into race and family.
New York: Harcourt Brace, copyright 1996.
This rang a bell with me but I didn't really recognize either of these
titles.

Hello all of you fantastic finders of information, etc.! I have been
wracking my brain, Amazon, Google, etc.trying to find this.
Does anyone remember when The Color of Water by James McBride came out,
there was another book like it of a tribute to a biracial mother/son
relationship? I can't remember the name, but the author's name might be
Mark.
Thanks for your help! Julie A. Roberts [removed]@rolling-meadows.lib.il.us

I found a couple of titles that sound about right in our catalog:
Lazarre, Jane. Beyond the Whiteness of Whiteness: memoir of a White mother
of Black sons
Durham, NC: Duke University Press, copyright 1996.
Minerbrook, Scott. Divided to the vein: a journey into race and family.
New York: Harcourt Brace, copyright 1996.

This may be completely off track, but I keep thinking of Mark
Mathabane. He is a black South African and wrote about his interracial
marriage in "Love in Black and White". Like I say, maybe totally wrong
