Our patron remembers a science fiction or maybe a fantasy series she read
in the early 80s--possibly four titles, about people who live in a land
"where darkness killed them". They had to stay inside at night with the
lights on. The setting was historic--they used gas lamps or candles for
light. She believes the first title in the series was "The Dark" or "The
Darkness" but not the one by John Saul.
We've found many books in OCLC with Dark in the title, and a big list from
What Fantastic Fiction Do I Read Next but nothing rings a bell.
Any ideas on the author's name and the titles of the books? Thanks in
advance for your help. You can reply to [removed]@jcls.org.
