About 6 or 8 months ago I asked for suggestions for how to celebrate the 5th
anniversary of our book discussion group. I want you all to know that your
suggestions helped us have a wonderful reminiscence and celebration. I
printed a booklet for all the participants, listing every book we'd
discussed, including a 2-3 line synopsis of the plot, a quote about our
reaction to the book from a survey I asked everyone to fill out last year,
and a couple blank lines so each person could record her own memories or
reactions if she hadn't read the book but planned to in the future.
I also made up a scavenger hunt for quotes from about half of the 60 titles
and gave prizes for those with the most correct answers. It was so much fun
and the 21 members who attended said they really enjoyed it. Thanks for
all the Fiction-L help during these years and in planning our party.--Kim
