I don't have any great ideas for your change but I do know if you collection is limited, patrons will notice right away that there are new books available and they will be thrilled. Just make sure they are shelved in a prominent place and they all have bright shiny covers. If you have a sign designating that they are large print, make some stick on signs that draw attention and say "New!" or some such thing. If you have a newsletter, also mention that there are new LP books available, and maybe make up a bookmark with some suggested titles in LP. (I told you I didn't have any birght ideas!).

We have 3 branches that get rotating collections from the main library.
What we do here is: when books come off the "new book" shelf they go to an
extension staff member (me) to determine which books will rotate and which
will not. Generally, all fiction rotates, as well as non-fiction of popular
interest. We also rotate our video, audio book, and cd collections. How we
do this and what I found to be the easiest way is to send everything to one
branch first, then after the books, or whatever, has been there the selected
ammount of time (In our case 3 months), they are routed to the next location
and so on until they come back from the last location. At that time they
are returned to the mains collection. We do this with large print as well.
This system usually works pretty well. By changing the temporary location
when the book is rotated, one of our librarians is able to print a list of
all items in a location different from it's permanant location. This list
includes an 'update' date, so it is real easy to look at the list and
determine if it's time for an item to be pulled for rotation.
Hope this helps!
Kim
