Subject: possible children's book?
My father, somewhat shocked that I don't automatically know
the title of every book that's every been written, is looking for a
book about two Catholic priests set in southern California (or
possibly someplace else in the Southwest). He says that
it was set in the 1800s and has been published for quite
some time since he read it when he was young.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Could it be Willa Cather's "Death Comes for the Archbishop"? It's
definitely an old classic, and while not a children's book, it's suitable
for teens.
