Patron is looking for a novel someone told her about, probably fairly
recent. Here is what the patron thinks she knows about the book. The main
character is a lobbyist for the tobacco industry who is kidnapped and forced
to sit in a room filled with smoke for days, so that he becomes very
addicted but also gets sick whenever he comes into contact with cigarette
smoke. This, naturally, makes it very difficult for him to do his job. I
thought of _Thank You for Smoking_ by Chris Buckley and _Smokeout_ by S.V.
Date, but neither seem to have the kidnapping gambit as far as I can tell.
Does anyone recognize this plot?
