A patron wants to know what state the town of Osoko is in. I have checked
gazetteers, atlases, Google and even the Rand McNally road atlas, state by
state, to no avail.
I'd be grateful if someone could help me out here!
Many thanks for your tolerance.
Maureen

So let me get this straight: You want information about why reference
librarians always answer a question with another question, right?

Here's a response I got from someone on Stumpers, so I'm going to leave it
at that. Many thanks for all your help.

Maureen:
If I recall the "Jeopardy" program correctly, the answer [or question]
was "Oshkosh" [Wisconsin], and Alex Trebek, of course, added "b'gosh."

A great source for this kind of question is the USGS Geographic Names Information System:

Hope this helps!
