A patron came in looking for a children's book. All she can remember is
that Father Bunny is an artist who loves his children dearly. He dies.
The children look up a a sunrise and think their father painted it for
them. She thought it was a story in a collection.

Suggestions? Hints? Outlandish guesses?

I received this book for Christmas, 1956 and loved (and still remember) it. It
was definitely a "Golden Book" and I'm almost positive it was Grandfather
Bunny.

It's a Golden Book called Grandpa Bunny , and it was one of my favourites
too.
