Thanks in advance.
BTW, I do plan on doing the Diet Fiction list but this has been a crazy week and when given the choice of giving blood or doing the list, I'm happy to say I chose to give blood. I know you will all understand. :-)

It is definitely fiction and was probably written by either Stephen
King or Tabitha King, although the publisher or the Kings have not
confirmed this.

It tries to pretend to be real, BUT-- right on the book it says in tiny
print that it is fiction.
I have no idea if there is a basis in fact or not, but even if there is
it is treated as fiction now, with lots of conversation, etc.

We have a question regarding the cataloging of DIARY OF ELLEN RIMBAUER:
My Life at Rose Red by Joyce Reardon. How is everyone cataloging this?
Fiction or nonfiction? McNaughton copy arrived as 921 but when checked
on OCLC it was cataloged as fiction so we changed it to fiction.
However, according to the website, this is a true story and a real
diary. Can anyone (David in Seattle maybe?) shed a little more light on
this book?
Thanks in advance.

Is the whole site bogus? Is there a Beaumont University? If you click on

And I did find the "fiction" notation on the back of the book but it was partially hidden by the McNaughton labels. Guess they were also fooled since they cataloged it as a biography!

other programs of study, like math and biology, but if you click on
those, you get the Red Rose Diary page.
And for those who remember their high school science classes, the name
"Constance Planck" as a physics instructor might set off some warning
bells, too....

What does the cataloging-in-publication data in the book say? I'm
curious because just yesterday I saw some CIP-lookalike information that
was apparently faked for purposes of satire. I found some scanned page
views of the Harry Potter parody "Barry Trotter and the Unauthorized
Parody" on the publisher's website, and noticed that the CIP information
was apparently part of the parody, too; it included subject headings like
"Ripoffs -- blatant", "Books -- stupid", and "Copyright --
infringement". I thought it was interesting that someone would carry the
joke that far.
