One of our older patrons is looking for a book that he read awhile ago. It
was set in Toronto and involved horses. He described the plot as involving
a librarian whose brother dies. The female librarian takes over her dead
brother's detective business and is quite successful. He thinks there are
pictures of race horses on the book's cover and maybe the word 'will' in
the title. Can you help us?

The book your patron is looking for may be Death of a Sunday Writer by
Eric Wright. The dead person is a cousin, not a brother, in the
book.

There is a picture of one racing horse on the cover but not the word
'will.'

Michelle, that's DEATH OF A SUNDAY WRITER by Eric Wright. Yes there is a
horse with jockey on the cover and the main character is a part-time
librarian/detective. I haven't read it yet, but I've enjoyed this author's
other books.
