Hi All:
I am always amazed at the resources of this group. Hope you can pull
something out of your hat for me this time. I have a patron looking for a
book with the following plot/character details:
Young boy named Davey and Father, two ponies- one named Cleo and one named
Silver Dollar. Davey accidently runs over a frog with a lawnmower. He thinks
his father is angry with him and may punish him by taking his horse Silver
Dollar away. He comes to this conclusion after seeing a note written by his
father that says "pick up the silver dollar." Actually Dad is planning a
surprise for the boy and creating an award using a silver dollar coin. The
book is from the mid 60s- a chapter book for 3rd or 4th graders. Any ideas?
