published fiction:

Divakaruni, Chita Bannerjee Mistress of Spices
Desai, Anita Fasting, Feasting
Davidar, David House of Blue Mangoes
Jha, Raj Kamal Blue Bedspread
Narayan, R. K. Malgudi Days
Suri, Manil Death of Vishnu
Upadhyay, Sanrat Guru of Love (takes place in
Kathmandu)

And there's Naipaul, V.S. who should have at least some novels still in
print.
