Tiffany quite liked animals too, but no one except other animals liked

Hello--My favorite (other than Amy Tan) for your request is Gail
Tsukiyama (Samurai's Garden, Women of the Silk, Night of Many Dreams,
Dreaming Water). Another you probably want to include is Kyoko Mori
(The Dream of Water) and Sijie Dai (Balzac and the Little Chinese
Princess). If you wish to include non-fiction I would add Mah Adeline
Yen (Falling Leaves The True Story of an Unwanted Chinese Daughter).
Hope this helps,

Are you including Indian and Indian-American authors? There are lots of
them, which I would be glad to try to list if you are including that
ethnicity.

I have a pretty good list going so far. I'm looking for novelists from
Asia
who have had their work translated into English and also Asian-American
writers who write in English. I mostly need contemporary authors who
will
be readily in print.
Thanks.

The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy (Booker Prize Winner)
Also, I read just a couple of weeks ago a first novel by an author that
I enjoyed very much:
The Last Song of Dusk by Siddharth Dhanvant Shanghvi
I read one a couple of years ago that is a wonderful story of life in
India and America;
Sisters of the Heart by Chitra Divakaruni.
Hope this is helpful!
