Yes, it's Clarke's story "The Star," and it's widely anthologized, so it should be easy to find a copy.

Dear FictionLers--Someone on this list is sure to know
this story: the story is about a space explorer coming
to a planet on which the civilization has been
destroyed by its star going nova (I think). He works
out that the resulting light would have been seen on
earth at the time of Jesus' birth. Maybe the story is
by Arthur C. Clarke?
