I agree with David that it's most likely Bomba, possibly #9 in the series
(BOMBA AND
THE UNDERGROUND RIVER).
There have been a number of Tarzan imitators/ripoffs over the years; in the US,
Bomba was about the most popular (in the juvenile market) and longest-running.
Other Tarzan imitators listed at

--a long list, though I spotted one omission: there's a second Kaspa story,
KASPA THE LION MAN, also by C.T. Stoneham (and published only in the UK).
Many of the characters on the list I cite above appeared only in the UK, or
only
in magazines (some of which have been reprinted in book form in recent years,
but not long enough ago for your patron).
