Did anyone get to watch this movie? In the Phoenix area, it aired Sunday
night on TNT. I, personally, rather enjoyed it. It reminded me of
Raiders of the Lost Ark. And he had a great line at the end, something
about the profession of librarianship being pretty cool.

Lisa,
I also watched it and enjoyed it. I like humorous adventure movies
that are not too violent. I enjoyed his relationship with his mother
and how books, knowledge and a woman help save the day. I was hoping
they would mention that he had a librarian degree of some kind but no
such luck.

Yes, TNT will be showing The Librarian again, quite a few more times, including tonight. I watched Mitch Albom's The Five People You Meet in Heaven on ABC on Sunday. Anybody else catch this one? I couldn't watch. I am a librarian who used to be an archaeologist.
Watching both of my career choices made into swashbuckling adventure
was just too much to bear.

I bet Harrison Ford and Noah Wylie never had to pick ticks, chiggers,
sweat bees and other nasty biting things off of themselves, or had to
clean old poo off of older shoes :oP

I thought it was fun. It certainly looked like it hoped it would develop
into a series. One of my co-worker thought a good line was "get your own
geek!" as the two women fought over him. Ir remeinded me of something
between Indiana Jones (of course) and Men In Black (for the novice learning
on the job).

It never said that he didn't have a library degree. In fact, Flynn has
22 degrees, one could certainly be an MLS. I also noticed in his
interview he mentioned that he knew LC and Dewey and some other very
librarian things.

I thought the movie was a lot of fun and I would love to see sequels.
At least viewers might get the idea that you need college education to
be a librarian and Flynn was certainly pretty cool. Much better than
the really awful librarian in Attack of the Clones, Star Wars Episode
II, who tells them if she can't find something in her library, it
doesn't exist!

I watched The Librarian with my husband, also a librarian. We were happy to watch it on videotape rather then live because of an excessive amount of commercials. We thought it was pretty bad, but still had fun watching it. Very reminiscent of Indiana Jones and Romancing the Stone, too. What I'm really looking forward to is next week's "The Wizard of Earthseas" 2 part miniseries.

I, too, watched The Librarian and enjoyed it. It is fun to have one's
profession considered in an heroic manner. And we do fight to save
knowledge from being obliterated, don't we? At least at some level (not all
of us get the chance, and none of us so spectacularly....) Imagine such a
Library!
And what could be in it!

I also enjoyed the movie version of "The Five People You Meet in Heaven!"
