The patron in this case is me. I read a book recently and cannot even
remember if I finished it. It started with a man going into a
restaurant and chatting with the owners (who I believe were Vietnamese).
He met with a man and while he was there some young men came in with
police officers (may have been plainclothes detectives). The main
character leaves for some reason and when he comes back the owners and
the man whom he met with owners have been shot to death. I think the
premise is that he (the main character) was the target.

This is very vague and I apologize but it is driving me batty trying to
think of the title! It is a fairly recent book.

Any leads most appreciated!

Just catching up on my email. I don't see that anyone has responded to this so far.
This is really familiar but I'm remembering it as a scene from a movie rather than a book. Is that possible? Let me know and I'll keep thinking... It's on the tip of my brain!
