Novel set in Venice

I have someone looking for a story set in Venice by an author with the first name of Ann/Anne. The author is more well-known for a series that she writes. The title of the series may have the word "sins" or something similiar in it. I've tried Anne Rice, Anne Perry and looked at Elizabeth Peters' Seventh Sinner. Does this stimulate anyone's "little grey cells?"
Thanks for any help.
