Santa Claus came for Easter

I have another question - patron remembers a book
titled the Year Santa Claus Came for Easter. i can't
find anything with that title in our catalog, Amazon,
Powell's & Bartleby. The patron says it is a book he
checked out from us that would have been new in the
early '70's. Does it sound familiar to anyone? I
searched short stories at Bartleby just in case it's a
short story not a book, but no luck.
And I have a suggestion for the Alternate History
thread -- Branch Point by Mona Klee. It starts from a
point after the Cuban Missile Crisis went horribly
wrong & has a team of people trying to go back in time
& fix it. They try several different things, and as I
recall, end up going pretty far back in time. Also,
the Company series by Kage Baker sort of fits. While
not exactly "alternate" history in the sense that
things turn out differently, Mendoza & company
certainly have a different perspective on history.

From NoveList: Santa Claus goes incognito via airplane to the city for a
visit at Easter. He is recognized and returns home with many Easter eggs and
gifts for Mrs. Santa Claus.
The copyright is 1957 and the title isn't right, but......

Thanks, everyone for the Civil War sailors answers --
I have passed all suggestions on to the patron.

The Easter bunny that overslept / by
Priscilla and Otto Friedrich ; illustrated by Adrienne Adams.
Having slept past Easter, the Easter bunny tries to distribute his eggs on
Mother's Day, the Fourth of July, and Halloween, but no one is interested.
At Christmas time it is Santa who gets him back on track.
Not exactly as you described, but a possibility.
