If you are near Salem, Oregon, or plan on being in the Oregon area this weekend, you are invited to attend a mystery program this Saturday, April 27, from 4:00 - 6:00 at the Salem Public Library's Lecture Hall. We will start with a short mystery skit where you will get to cast your ballot for the suspect. After that April Henry and Phillip Margolin will speak about writing mysteries, and Sgt. Bellshaw from the Salem Police Department will discuss forensics and detecting.

April is the author of the Claire Montrose mysteries (CIRCLES OF CONFUSION and two others) and her latest stand-alone title, LEARNING TO FLY, was just released to great praise by reviewers (Booklist gave it a starred and boxed review and Kirkus even liked it).

Phillip is an internationally known author of many great legal thrillers, including GONE, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN and his latest, THE ASSOCIATE.

An article appeared in Salem's local newspaper, which gave me a great laugh. It said something like "...the discussion will be moderated by Robin Beerbower, but the *real draw* [emphasis mine] will be two nationally known authors...".
