Humorous fiction title
|

"I remember reading a humorous fiction book about
a new yorker who managed to get adopted by the last member of an indian
tribe in the st lawrence river and ended up owning an island in the thousand
islands group. The US and Canadian government then tried to split the island
but the man refused. As much as I remember the story the title or auther
eludes me. Do you have any idea how I could find out? It was written in the
early to mid 70's judging by the characters several of whom were hippies."
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
Thanks,
Kathryn Shaw
