I hope that you are all aware of the American Writers series on C-Span. The
series reached the 20th century right before 9/11 and has just started up
again. The live broadcast is at 3 p.m. EDT Sunday afternoon, with a replay
the following Friday at 8 p.m. EDT. The first in the new series was the
Harlem Renaissance, featuring Langston Hughes and Zora Neal Hurston.
Yesterday's show was in Baltimore with H.L. Mencken. Next Sunday's will be
F. Scott Fitzgerald. Each show is in a related location with one or more
scholars, and lots of call-ins. All the shows are available on the C-Span
website.

> Is this the series called BOOK TV? If so, our cable company runs it on
> C-SPAN 2 which is a premium channel and must be purchased as such. If
not,
> I'll be thrilled to hear it.
