I've had a patron ask about a mystery that I'm sure I've heard about but
can't find listed anywhere. The mystery is set in England during the
Middle Ages. It deals with a woman who runs a house of ill repute
situated near a church or abbey. She takes good care of her "girls".
When a nobleman is killed on the steps of the church the blame is aimed
at her and her staff by church officials that are upset about the
location of her house. The patron couldn't remember much else but
thought it might be the beginning of a series. Any ideas?

The author is Roberta Gellis and there are currently two in the series,
A Mortal Bane and A Personal Devil.
