Calling all Fiction_L'ers,
A patron is asking about a new book he heard about (or saw?) recently
while in England. He said it is likened to the Harry Potter books, but the
hero/main character was not a school boy. He said it was maybe a little
more Sci-Fi, and would appeal to adults. He also said the authors last
name was "...something like Thatcher or Fletcher." I found one called
"Artemis Fowl" by Eoin Colfer that sounds pretty close, except the
character is a 12 year old boy. Any other ideas?

Could he be thinking about Terry Pratchett? I got clobbered by a Pratchett
devotee the last time I mentioned that I thought there was a similarity in
Harry Potter and the Discworld, but I still think so!
