Greetings All!
We have a patron who read a series approx. 6 yrs. ago by a male(?) author.
The series is Fantasy about trolls/elves who have ESP abilities. The patron
read Book 2 of the series involving a male and female elves. The female was
developing her ESP - coming into puberty if you will. Can anyone help me?

This is a pure guess but it might be a book by Anne Logston, possibly
Dagger's Edge, possibly one of her other books. Synopses of her books
are available at http://home.att.net/~logston/books.html. Does the
patron remember any other details? Setting? The species of the
supporting characters? Paperback or hardback? Unfortunately coming of age
novels where the main character develops magical ability are fairly common
in fantasy.

There are probably a lot of books that could match this description. Are
any other details available?

My thought: The description you give reminds me of some of the
novelizations or story collections based on the "Elfquest" graphic novels
by Wendy and Richard Pini. The elves in these books have telepathic
abilities, and experience "recognition" -- a kind of involuntary
telepathic "love at first sight" -- as part of their romantic
relationships. Trolls figure in the plot, too, but mainly as peripheral
characters.

I received a few 'hits' to my query - all of them different - and I passed
them on to the librarian who asked the question in the first place. She has
