Has anyone done an ongoing book discussion group for Civil War buffs? Our
local megabookandmusicstore has one, but I wonder would a library be able to
support one. Do you all read the same book, or read by topic (e.g. Lincoln,
Gettysburg, women, war at sea, etc.)? How do you get enough copies of a
book? Do you invite scholars, or can a generalist Librarian lead a group on
this topic?

Any assistance or words of wisdom are always appreciated!

i think this is a great idea. and, i think a
generalist librarian can handle the job. the question
i would ask would be: "do i want to read only fiction
books or should i add some non-fiction as well?"
bruce catton is always a good place to begin with the
latter and there are a multitude of authors who have
wriiten fiction concerning the civil war. good luck.
