I have a patron who got a book for her husband several years
ago. She said it is a series and the author's name is in
the first part of the alphabet. It is about an American Indian
tribe and it is told from the Indians point of view. She thinks
the tribe is located in the Midwest or the East. The book takes
place in the 1700's. Thanks for any suggestions

There is the vaguest chance that this might be the "White Indian" series
written by Donald Clayton Porter who was really Noel Gerson and who also
wrote as Dana Fuller Ross, among others.

Any possibility that this could be one of James Fenimore Cooper's
"Leatherstocking tales"? "Last of the Mohicans", etc.? The author's
name is "in the first part of the alphabet".

I thought this one had been answered but see that it is still generating
responses. Could the title the patron is thinking of be "Hanto Yo" by Ruth
Beebe Hill? It follows two families of the Teton Sioux starting in the
late 1700's and into the mid 1800's and it is from the Indian's point of
view. The book was published in 1979.
