She is looking for a mystery series, but can't remember any names or titles. Here are the sketchy details:

Woman Author
Woman Central Character (CC)
CC loses job
CC becomes Private Investigator
CC meets male P.I. who is former FBI
CC thinks male P.I. is after her (romantically)
CC discovers that male P.I. is gay

I tried a plot summary on Novelist, but did not uncover a familiar author for her.

Actually, it COULDN'T be Evanovich's novels. For one thing, Stephanie Plum is a bounty hunter, not a P.I., Joe Morelli is a cop, not a P.I., and he is definitely NOT gay!

Miight these be the Savanna Reid mysteries by G.A. McKevett? Savanna is an ex cop who is now a PI. There is a former FBI agenet and his partner who are agy who are part of the sleuthing group. Savanna's ex partner and present cop is also a part of the mix. As is lots of food and peculiar relatives. Set in California. The latest is Sour Grapes.

Hi Mary,
The character you're looking for may be Savannah Reid, a
female PI in several very amusing books written by G.A.
McKevett. These books include "Cooked Goose", "Just
Deserts", "Killer Calories", and the newest, "Sour
Grapes". I haven't read any recently but I thought of
this character when I read your description. Hope this
