I have a paton who has forgotten the name/author of a book she read about
an Irish female medieval detective/lawyer. She doesn't know if it is an
individual book or a series. Can anyone help?

This is the Sister Fidelma series by Peter Tremayne.
She's a 7th century Celtic sister and legal advocate.
Some of the books in the series are:

Absolution by Muder
Shroud for the Archbishop
Suffer Little Children
The Subtle Serpent
The Spider's Web
Valley of the Shadow
The Monk Who Vanished

and a collection of short stories - Hemlock at Vespers

This is probably the Sister Fidelma series by Peter Tremayne. The first
book in the series is Absolute Murder.

I think your patron might be referring to the Sister Fidelma mysteries
written by Peter Tremayne. They're set in medieval Ireland and Sister
Fidelma is a nun in a monastary.
