BookBrowser Update
|
FROM: "Cynthia Orr" <[removed]@en.com>
REC'D: 4/12/01, 6:54 PM
I'm happy to report that the site is up and running after only a couple of
hours of down time, and the good news is that when Janet took the server to
her new ISP's headquarters so that they could get the site up and running
right away, she decided to arrange to leave it there and eventually move all
the servers there. So BookBrowser should be faster than ever, since it is
now running on their main trunk line.
I just tested it again, and it's working fine. You can even fill out the
survey on the front page (please do--we really can use this data to help
with our planning). What we can't do is update the site every day as we
have been doing in the past, so unfortunately, there will be nothing new
added until probably around the end of next week. And email isn't working
yet. If you have any questions, you can reach me at the address below and
I'll try to help. I spoke with Janet on the phone tonight. (Imagine that!
How old fashioned!<g>)
She said that her biggest problem is that she does EVERYTHING on the
Net--banking, UPS tracking of books she ships to reviewers--even grocery
shopping. So she is in major upheaval in her house and then had to go to
the grocery store on top of eveything else <g>.
We're very sorry for the inconvenience, but please continue to use the site.
It's working fine. It's just that it won't be updated for a little while.
And thanks again for all the good wishes. When things get stressful it's
very nice to know that you're loved!
Best,
Cindy
