Help! One of the trustees for my library says she got these three books at
our library and wants to read them again but can't remember the names or
authors. She says they are all fairly recent novels. None of them sound
familiar to any of the staff here.

Can't help you with the last two, but the first sounds like Ken Kesey's
"Sometimes a Great Notion." (It was made into a movie with Kirk Douglas,
titled, I believe, "The Big Trees.")
