Help! One of the trustees for my library says she got these three books at
our library and wants to read them again but can't remember the names or
authors. She says they are all fairly recent novels. None of them sound
familiar to any of the staff here.

Here's hoping they ring a bell with someone out there in fiction_l land...

Not sure about the first two, but the last one sounds like it could be
"Disclosure" by Michael Crichton.

Disclosure by Michael Crichton.

The first one could be Naomi Stokes, The Tree People or the sequel The
Listening Ones. Both take place on the coast of Washington and the heroine
is a Native American sheriff who has come back to her home. Much of the
action takes place in the old forests, with the lore of the area.

Can't help you with the last two, but the first sounds like Ken Kesey's
"Sometimes a Great Notion." (It was made into a movie with Kirk Douglas,
titled, I believe, "The Big Trees.")
