Hi Everyone,
Do any of you know of some humour fiction written in Tom Robbins style for
my 20 yr. old male patron? He especially likes the eccentric characters of
Robbins' stories and the plot-driven narrative style. TX

They may well enjoy the works of Richard
Brautigan (Revenge of the Lawn, Trout Fishing in
America, Sombrero Fallout...), T.C. Boyle, John
Barth (Giles Goat Boy), Ken Kesey... maybe
Pynchon... maybe Vonnegut....
if eccentricity's their bag, Harry Crew's
headlong Southern grotesqueries (Feast of Snakes,
All We Need of Hell, Body) can't be beat. Maybe
Terry Southern (The Magic Christian).
On the dark side, Thomas Berger, Charles
Bukowski, certainly Nathaniel West's Day of the
Locust, Robert Coover.
Heck, early Tom Wolfe. Heck, Hunter S.
Tompson.

Your 20 year old male patron might like Zeitgeist, by Bruce Sterling. It reminded me immediately of Tom Robbins, and it's a fun, fast, eccentric read.
