Bad Dates

There must be thousands but I can only come up with a
collection of celebrity bad dates (titled Bad
Dates/Carole Markin) and My Ride with Gus by Charles
Carillo (man picks up woman, kills her in self
defense, spends night disposing of body).
Cinematic bad dates: After Hours, Blind Date
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thanks
Margaret

I am thinking of doing a quickie booklist for the Ides
of March titled "Bad Dates" which would include
examples of bad dating experiences in books/film.

Off the top of my head:
Books:
*Bridget Jones - isn't that chock-full of bad date esperiences?
*Amanda's Wedding - a recent release, along the lines of BJ
*Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married - ditto
*Bad Boy by Olivia Goldsmith - the female protagonist suffers through
a series of bad dates with her loser boyfriend, as does the male
protagonist
Movies:
*Bye, Bye Love - a group of suddenly-single men have to reacquaint
themselves with the dating scene. Randy Quaid and Janeane (?) Garofolo are
one of the most hilariously mismatched couples in cinematic history. Thier
first date is a true cringe-fest. Not to be missed. And Matthew Modine
with all those soccer moms who show up for dinner on the same night...
*When Harry Met Sally (?) Don't Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan spend a lot of
time dating the wrong people in this one?
*Pretty in Pink - Molly Ringwald has a horrible time with the rich kid she
thinks is the guy of her dreams; lucky for her Jon Cryer's waiting to
"pick up the pieces when somebody breaks her heart"...
That's all I can come up with at the moment. Is this the kind of story
you're looking for?

The movie Bye, Bye, Love has a hilarious bad date between Jeanine Garafalo
and Randy Quaid.
The new book "Amanda's Wedding" by Jenny Colgan starts out with a date gone
bad.

The female lead goes out with guys, they fall for her, she doesn't want to
hurt their feelings by dumping them, so she kills them instead. :) One of
the guys tries date rape, so I think it would qualify for the Bad Date list.
And I suppose the guys that end up dead might consider it to have been a bad
date...
I believe I originally heard about the book here, but if you haven't read
it, or at least looked at it, check it out. :) It's appealed to a wide range
of patrons here, and it's a thinner book.
