I am looking for a list of the best books for young adults (high schoolers
only, not geared for middle schools) for a display I will be doing in
April. Anyone who could send me a list via email or fax 847-729-7682, I
would greatly appreciate and be willing to share my past bibliographies
for various subjects that I have done. Thanks in advance.

ALA's Young Adult services division (YALSA) publishes an annual list. The
lists from 1996-2001 are available at
http://www.ala.org/yalsa/booklists/bbya/. This says that the books listed
are recommended for ages 12-18, so you might have to pick out those geared
towards high schoolers.

I am using these books as well, but what I am more interested in is
individual libraries and what they have found teens like the most, what
circulates the best, what is most popular in their experiences. I would
like to know what different librarians have found to be the best of the
best also.

I have noticed lately that since Phillip Pullman's latest in the "His Dark Materials" series came out, all of the previous books in that series seem to go out as soon as they come back.
