The discussion we've been having of nature fiction and "talk-to-the-animals"
books has reminded me of a book I vaguely remember reading many years ago.
It featured a lamb which was protected by a black and a spotty panther. I'm
sure it was *not* a juvenile. Can anyone tell me the title and author?

There was also a book called, I think, "Gift of the Forest," a juvenile
about the adventures of a Hindu boy and his pet tiger. Can anyone confirm
this title and provide the author's name?
