This is for my mom whose memory is not what it used to be... She
started a book last year and never got to finish it. This is what she
remembers:

"In short, it's about a woman in England, who moves to South America to
live with her grandparents and then begins a search for her other
grandparents who are missionaries..."

However, when she first told me about it she said South Africa rather
than South America, so...

Description doesn't match but there is a South American connection and a
woman trying to find - not her Grandmother - but the experiences her
Grandmother had in Kate Wheeler's When Mountains Walked - but no
missionary. The Grandfather was a geologist and the husband is a
health/social worker.
