Hi - I have an elderly patron who has read and enjoyed everything by Gwen
Bristow and Evan Maxwell. Now she's looking for similar authors. I'm not
too familiar with either of these so I told her I'd call her back. Anyone

I did a quick search on Gwen Bristow and she was on three different list:
family sagas, historical fiction - civil war and romance - innocent. Evan
Maxwell wasn't listed.

I, too, have read and enjoyed Gwen Bristow--in fact, Jubilee Trail is my
all-time favorite novel. You might want to direct your patron to Into the
Wilderness and the sequel Dawn on a Distant Shore by Sara Donati. Your
patron may also enjoy Karen Harper's On the Wings of Morning.
