Maybe you could combine it with a nonfiction title
like DESERT QUEEN (about Gertrude Bell)by Janet
Wallach, WOMEN OF THE FOUR WINDS by Elizabeth Olds,
about intrepid female explorers of the 19th century or
the brand-new THEY WENT WHISTLING by Barbara Holland.

Subject: Elizabeth Peters book group suggestion
I need help with a book suggestion and can't think of a better place to
go. Author Elizabeth Peters (aka Barbara Michaels, Barbara Mertz) will
be visiting our library next spring. I am putting together a list of
books to be read for the 2001-2002 season of the library's book
discussion groups and want to include one of her books. My problem is
that I don't know which one would best lend itself to discussion. Our
groups do like mysteries, but always ask me to find books that offer
more than just a "whodunnit" appeal (easier to discuss). I am open to
either the E. Peters books or Barbara Michaels titles. Can anyone
suggest a good book to discuss? I need to complete the list in the next
two weeks and just don't have time to read them all.
Your help is much appreciated!
