Dear Wonderful Fiction L-ers,

I have a patron who is looking for a series that has the following elements:

The main character is a First Officer for the Maritime Fisheries (a Canadian equivalent of our Coast Guard), possibly named Malcolm.

The patron believes the author is also Canadian.

The books feature mystery, adventure and murder.

The patron believes he read these about three years ago.
