I have a patron who insists that Jeffrey Deaver wrote a
book (she thinks is) titled _Lost River_ under a pseudonym.
She doesn't know the pseudonym.

Sound familiar to anyone?

I think his publisher is republishing books he wrote earlier as William
Jeffries. One title is Bloody River Blues, according to his bio in
Contemporary Authors. hope that helps.

According to the website, he wrote Shallow Graves under the pseudonym
William Jefferies, and introduced John Pellam. Bloody River Blues was
another title featuring John Pellam.

Contemporary Authors lists a pseudonym for Jeffery Deaver as William
Jefferies writing "Bloody River Blues" Close but not exact title-could
this be what your patron is looking for?

If you go to the site and click "Books" at the bottom of the page and you
click "Bloody River Blues" you will find.....
"The Edgar-nominated book Shallow Graves (originally published under the
pseudonym William Jefferies) introduced us to John Pellam, ex-Hollywood
insider"

Hawk's Authors' Pseudonyms lists "William Jeffries" as a pseudonym of Jeffrey Deaver. Under this name he's credited with two Avon paperbacks, "Bloody River Blues" (1991) and "Shallow Graves" (1992), both of which appear to be part of a series called the "Location Scout Mysteries". Could your patron be slightly misremembering the title of "Bloody River Blues"?

Thanks to all for the help in determing that Jeffrey Deaver
wrote under the name of William Jeffries. My patron was
very grateful. And now I can start ordering this series for
the library's mystery collection.
