I recently heard that Judith Krantz writes historical romance novels under
a different name. Does anyone know what it is? I have a patron who is a

Justine--I looked up Judith Krantz in our catalog and
came up with two other names: Jayne Castle and Amanda
Quick. Amanda Quick is the historical romance
writer-persona.

really is Jayne Castle and Amanda Quick, with Judith

When I looked up Judith Krantz on an author pseudonym website, it gave
the name Judith Tarcher. However, I have not been able to verify that any
books have been published under the name Judith Tarcher.

(The same website site gave seven pseudonyms for Jayne Ann Krentz: Jayne
Bentley, Jayne Castle, Amanda Class, Amanda Glass, Stephanie James, Amanda
Quick, Jayne Taylor. Jayne Ann Krentz writes contemporary romances.
Jayne Castle is the name used for futuristics romances. Amanda Quick
writes historical romances. I suspect the author has stopped using the
other names.)

The website I checked is http://www.trussel.com/books/aka.htm.

The Jayne Bentley name was used when she wrote for McFadden Romance.
The Jayne Castle name was originally used when she wrote for
Candlelight books. She later used it to write a series of 4 mystery
romances, and currently uses it for her SF/Romances. Amanda Class is I
believe a misprint of Amanda Glass, which was used to publish 1
SF/Romance. Stephanie James was the name used to write for Silhouette
Romance, Amanda Quick is the name currently used for writing the
Historical and Regency Romances. Jayne Taylor was the name used to
write for Leisure Romance. The only names currently in use are Jayne
Ann Krentz for contemporary, Jayne Castle for SF/Romance, and Amanda
Quick for Historical/Regency.

or wirtes hsitorical/regency era historicals as Amanda Quick?

She is NOT Jayne Ann Krentz.

Jayne Ann Krentz writes sensual romance (Temptation), romantic suspense,
historical/regencies, romantic science fiction/futuristics, etc.l) She is
also:

Jayne Castle (I think Krentz=Castle)
Amanda Quick
Amanda Glass
Stephanie James

And there's one other, earlier one that escapes me.

She is also the editor of Dangerous Men and Adventurous Women: Romance
Writers on the Appeal of the Romance.
