I don't know if this is the book your patron is looking for, but Murder
with Peacocks, by Donna Andrews, published in January 1999, features Meg
Langslow. Meg is the maid of honor for three demanding brides,
including her business partner, her future sister-in-law, and her mother. Very
funny, so your patron might enjoy even if it's not the right one. One
of the brides wants the peacocks to provide atmosphere, another wants a
medieval theme, etc.
