Does anyone out there know of a mystery in which a woman finds a fortune in
a crockpot?

It's not a mystery, and the fortune is not exactly found in the crockpot,
but "Patchwork Planet" by Anne Tyler has a character who does almost all
of her cooking in a crockpot and her aunt misplaces some money which is
later replaced in some kind of pot or pan.
