We have had one person complain that their (expensive, foreign) car's
stereo would not take the CD's with the cover. I put them in my (not-that
expensive, American) car's stereo without a problem all the time.
Hope this helps.

I personally had a CD from a library jam in my CD player, which I then had to
have repaired. The CD label was not applied EXACTLY over the hole, and some
sticky part was hanging out into the hole, which seems to be why it got
jammed. I couldn't even open the CD drawer (it held 5 cds) once that CD went
in there.
So I believe there is a potential problem. On the other hand, I have used
many library cds with labels without having that problem ... until that one
...

We started buying DVDs this month and have not yet purchased any labels.
We write WCLC and the accession number on the inner circle with a red
permanent marker. Does anyone have an argument for using little round ID
labels rather than writing on the disk? I could use some advice from those
of you experienced with the new technology!

My car stereo specifically says not to use cd's
that have labels affixed to them because they
can damage the loading mechanism.
