This is nonfiction but I'm hoping someone knows what this is:

Patron doesn't remember the author or any words from the title. It
seems to have been a book of articles or essays on a wide variety of
science topics. Perhaps on "strange science" topics, ala Ripley's
believe it or not. He remembered two of the essays. One was about a
married couple who were scientists who raised a genius child. Their
approach to childraising was such that the child could read and
understand Shakespeare at the age of 6 years. Another essay had to do
with the psychology of color, i.e. red makes you nuts, blue calms you
down, etc.
