A patron is looking for the author of a mystery series she remembers. She
thinks a male wrote the series. It features a female (maybe Native
American) who hides people on the run, a witness protection program of
sorts. She thinks it takes place in either Texas or Oklahoma. We tried
"What Mystery Do I Read Next?" and NOVELIST. Does this ring any bells out
there?

The series is written by Thomas Perry and features Jane Whitefield and in
order:
Vanishing Act
Dance for the Dead
Shadow Woman
Face-Changers
Blood Money

This sounds like the Thomas Perry series about Jane Winfield. The latest is
Blood Money.
