Ultimate Sports ed. by Donald Gallo...everything from sailing, to
swimming, track...some really good stories here.
Jumping the Nail by Eve Bunting. High schoolers rite of passage, jumping
off a cliff into the Pacific Ocean...underlying theme of peer pressure.
Free Fall by Joyce Sweeney. 4 high school boys go out spelunking and get
lost in the caves without anyone knowing where they are.
Iron Man by Chris Crutcher. High Schooler training for Iron Man
competition and dealing with massive anger toward his father in required
anger management classes.
Tomorrow When the War Began by John Marsden. When seven friedns go
camping in the Australian outback, they return to find their country
invaded. Will they return to the bush, give themselves up, or fight back?
1st in a series.
Non-Fiction-
The Endurance:Shackelton's Legendary Antarctic Expedition by Caroline
Alexander.
Alive: the Story of the Andes Survivors by Piers Paul Read. Older but
still asked for at my library.
