<< Has anyone ever done a display for Turn Off the Television week? I am
thinking of doing one in April and am struggling to come up with a theme.
Should they be books that were made into television movies? Books that
have the same themes as television shows, such as medical thrillers for ER
watchers, police procedurals for NYPD fans? These are some of the ideas
I've been mulling.

Sounds like Tess Gerritsen meets Ed McBain. Sounds like a lot of fun,
actually, even if the TV weren't turned off! Don't forget Scott Turow and
John Grisham for legal fans who might have to do without THE PRACTICE.

What a wonderful idea, one I'm going to use for that month. I can
envision individual bookmarks for a variety of books comparing themes to
corresponding TV shows. Thank you for the idea, I love this list.

By involving the whole community, and thinking about fun things to do and
then finding someone willing to do that table, we were able to fill up the
entire gym for a fun evening. Local business people donated prizes for
raffles, etc. The event was very popular. Lots of families attended and
strolled from table to table looking at the different hobbies. It was a
huge success and a lot of fun.
