We are looking for a book (might be a short story)that
might be called the Trial but we haven't found
anything under that title. It can't be too old because
it is about a TV producer who makes a made for TV
movie about recreating the trial of Christ. He plans
on televising it live worldwide.
Everything comes together and the show goes on, but in
the midst of the play there is suddenly a departure
from the script and Jesus and Judas have an argument
wherin they finally say to each other that they
should just try again,( I don't know,meaning lets do
this over, without the betrayal?) I didn't quite get
that part. Anyway after the program the director gets
a call from the actor who was supposed to play Judas
saying he was sorry he couldn't make it to the
production, he had an emergency and was glad someone
filled in...and then a call from the Jesus actor who
says he wasn't able to be there. Of course then who
were the people playing Judas and Jesus....
Familiar to anyone.
