I hope I'm not imagining this, but I seem to recall that I recently saw
statistics on romance fiction (% of sales, who reads romance etc.), but I
can only seem to find numbers for the years 1997 & 1998. I seem to
remember seeing more recent numbers than that, but now I can't recall
where. Can anyone out there help me?

I suggest that you contact Charis McEachern, Publicist for Romance Writers of
America. The website is www.rwanational.com Ms. McEachern can be contacted
from within the website. Also, RWA has a "library liaison" whose name is
Cathie Linz. She is a romance novelist & former librarian. She can also be
contacted from within the website. They might be able to get you some more
current stats. You might also contact Harlequin's Public Relations/Corporate
Information Office: Katherine Orr, Vice President, Public Relations
[removed]@harlequin.ca She might very well have some current stats, as
well.

Try the source for most romance industry news. Romantic Writers of
America. They are good at the stats of the industry.
